Acro at WSBPA

Acro dance is a widely practiced discipline, combining dance and acrobatics in a way that highlights flexibility, strength, balance, and agility.

The Acrobatic Arts focuses on safe, structured progression from beginner to advanced levels. The curriculum ensures that students develop a strong foundation in the five core divisions: flexibility, strength, balancing, limbering, and tumbling. As students’ progress, they learn acro elements that can be integrated into choreographed routines, emphasising the fusion of technique and artistry.Acro is designed for all ages, starting at age 5, where dancers may begin with basic movements like log rolls.
As students advance, they gain the skills needed to perform complex acro elements, such as back handsprings, aerials, and intricate acro-dance combinations, culminating in seamless, graceful routines that flow across the stage. Acro not only enhances physical ability but also develops a dancer’s creativity and expressiveness, allowing them to combine athleticism with artistry.
