This programme is designed for students who may be considering a future in performance or dance teaching, as well as those who simply have a love of dance, performing and musical theatre.

It offers students a valuable insight into the world of dance, while providing a fun, supportive and structured environment to learn, grow and build confidence.

WSBPA’s experienced and fully qualified teaching team are dedicated to guiding students in the right direction, providing high-quality training across all areas of dance.

With over 60 years of experience, WSBPA prides itself on its high standards, attention to detail and strong work ethic – combined with a positive and encouraging atmosphere for every student.

The programme includes a wide range of classes such as: Ballet, Modern, Tap, Contemporary, Acro, Choreography & Improvisation, Audition Technique, Body Conditioning & Progressing Ballet Technique. Students will also explore: Dance History, Basic Anatomy & Kinesiology, Stagecraft, Singing & Performance, Costume Design.

Throughout the programme, students will work towards an end-of-year showcase performance, giving them the opportunity to perform in a professional theatre setting.

Student wellbeing is a key focus of the programme. We aim to create a positive environment where students feel supported, encouraged and confident to develop both as dancers and as individuals.

To date, over 25 students have completed the Transition Year Associate Dance Programme, with participants joining us from a variety of schools including Loreto, Presentation, St. Peter’s College and a school in Waterford. The programme has also been enjoyed by international and exchange students, and can be a great way to enhance their overall experience while living and studying in Ireland.

The programme has proven to be a highly rewarding and enjoyable experience, and we look forward to welcoming a new group of students for 2026–2027.
